My RRS update

Hi,

I'm eleven months into owning my first RRS and still loving it. I've managed to find a great indie garage close to where I live who has serviced and maintained my car brilliantly. (A1 British 4x4 in Bury) Ownership hasn't been cheap but then for a 9 year old car i wouldn't class it as unreasonable. So far i've had the timing belts done, something with the exhausts (i think) which were rusting and shortly to have the anti roll bushes replaced.

In the time i've owned my RRS i've driven to Tuscany and back covering 3,000 miles where the car totally demonstrated why it was a great choice. There were five of us travelling with luggage and we had loads of room. The driving position and visibility really coming into their own driving across the north Italian alps into Switzerland where we were able to appreciate the stunning scenery. Of course the massive boot helps with loading up on duty free beer and wine along the way Smile

In February I took my 12 and 13 year olds to Holland for a week and not a single whinge from either of them. I've also got trips planned to France (in a fortnight), Germany (late June) and back to Italy near Venice in August for our family holiday.

I look at the new(er) RRS on the road and would love to be able to upgrade at some point but for now my 3 owner, 100K '07 plate still makes me smile. It certainly isn't fuel efficient (30mpg on average) or fast (its the 2.7) however the benefits of being able to travel in comfort with 5 people and luggage is definitely worth it.
