Australia 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Zermatt Silver
fitted new xenons over Halogen

Hi,

I recently purchased 2 brand new xenon light units for my vehicle to replace my Halogen ones. The new ones have an additional bulb in with the front side light that i am led to believe operates whilst signalling to turn, showing a clearer view of where you are destined.
These are not the full adaptive lights but the model below.
My vehicle is the base 2.7 V6.
Do i need to change anything as regards fuses or maybe activate them in a ccf file?

Those particular bulbs don't seem to be operating but all others are.

I have these fitted, they are normally fitted on the 2010-2013 facelift models, although they may have been fitted on earlier.
In my handbook there is no mention of a seperate fuse for these, and as obviously only work when you have dipped or Automatic lights on when indicating/turning I presume there could be a software update or at minimum an extra lead.
Not much help, but it bumps it up list again, I'm sure a knowledgeable member will be along soon. John

yeh thanks for that,
the ones purchased are definitely genuine Landrover and also for an 06 model.
The wiring is present in the multi plug behind the unit and i cant see any missing fuses.
just wondering if they dont actually operate unless moving

Yes you have to be moving with main lights on and the indicator for side you are turning to light up that corner.
That's on mine with the LED lights also. John

I have 2007 HSE the cornering lights come on whilst moving and signalling but only when travelling below 25 mph or there abouts. There noticeable in the dark so you'll know when they are working correctly. Nanocom Evo

They act in two different ways - as "conering lamps" they illuminate with the indicator below 40km/h, and as "static bending lamps" they illuminate once the steering wheel reaches a certain angle (IIRC - 225 deg at low speed, 70 deg at medium speed, and then they disable at high speeds).

The former function can be enabled in the CCF on a standard vehicle but the latter requires the AFS ECU. There are no fuses as, in common with the dipped and main beams, they are controlled by FETs in the Central Junction Box, which also produce the fading action by duty cycle.

In my D3, I now have modified H9 (65W) bulbs in place of the H8 (35W) ones - they offer a huge amount more light, but being over wattage, I had to run tests to ensure they wouldn't melt my units, so you would have to check/consider this with the RRS ones.
