I guess it depends on how far you want to go out.

In UK. Don't forget to let your insurance company know of this modification. Some can rather load you, but without notification your insurance is invalid in the event of any accident, and that would be a great shame not to be able to keep your vehicle.

I believe it depends on the accident and what contributed to it. The insurers are liable for 3rd party cover, but may come after you for the money. Fully comp depends on the claim. If the wheel/hub failure was the cause of the accident, then you are foobared. If not and the car is written off they may ask you to pay the difference between the premium and what the premium would have been if the mods were declared. One could try and argue that using spacers makes the car less attractive to thieves and so the premium you have been paying should have been less. Sorry AJ. |

Many have pointed out reasons to not do it, but I have heard H&R are the best. Also, you should consider an aftermarket set of wheels as they can adjust the offset to give you the look you are looking for without the added stress on said items. |

Whilst fitting the different offset wheels alone would improve the joint integrity over fitting spacers, the stresses on the adjoining components remain the same so you're no better off.
