Look above and it tells you how to put the front sensors on at low speed automatically.

"Look above and it tells you how to put the front sensors on at low speed automatically."

Believe I have tried that method and it has to be redone each time I start the car? Perhaps my 3 seconds wasn't log enough to permanently engage the front sensors? M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Well documented on here that is a fault. Software fix available. Had it done on mine by Land Rover assist at the road side and now works as it should.

The 3 second method does not apply for 16MY.

Yeh thanks for that my car was new end of Feb and I had assumed the dealer would have done the update in the pre delivery. Here in the land of OZ, I don't think roadside assist will be able to do. Would imagine this is a very quick update so a drive by and sort should be the ducks guts. Nice to know it is resolvable and that my assumption that the system works the way it currently does is a pre update condition.

Appreciate the help M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Well I still have the stupid problems, Auto stop does not work when the auto stop start function is engaged. ie Put into park take seat belt off car still runs?? Another issue I have is the key less lock ? Just doesn't work , unlock is very good. How come Land Rover can't get old technology like this working ? So looks like I have a few issues, hope this isn't a sign that will make me regret going from a very reliable Euro Brand to a highly priced lemon brand! M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

My RRS2 is the first Land Rover I have owned where the front sensors were not on all the time, going to be sorted next Friday when the car goes for its first service, I will say though that it is annoying when they are on all the time as when pedestrians in town walk near to the front of the car you get the sensors sounding, when you get less than 1m from the car in front in stop start driving you get the sensors sounding and when you are off-road they are also very sensitive - so you end up disabling them after a while just to silence them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I am sure you have already considered these but just to eliminate all other possibilities and confirm you have a problem...

1. Was the engine warm enough and did the battery have a decent amount of charge when you expected auto stop to work? Taking seat belt off will only turn the ignition off when auto stop/start has already turned the engine off. Doesn't need to be in Park, this works in Neutral as well.

2. Keyless lock only works when your hand or fingers are NOT between the door handle and the door i.e. make sure you use just your finger to touch the button from "the outside" to lock it. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Just to add another scenario, have been told that if you have recently used the paddles for gear changes the sop/start will not engage, weather that is true or not I don't know as I rarely use them ? 2015 HSE SDV6 Scotia Grey, ebony / lunar, colour coded, deployable steps, TV, sliding pano and a few other bits. Mine seem to work OK.

I took a bit of time to RTFM and configure them though. Here's the info:-

The Parking aid and 360° Park Distance Control systems assist the driver while manoeuvring the vehicle in confined spaces. When active, object tracking along the front, side, and rear of the vehicle are displayed on the Touch screen. The four corner sensors provide the 360° Park Distance Control monitoring along the vehicle sides. While the vehicle is passing an object that is within sensor range, the vehicle's integrated systems calculate its trajectory within the 360° Park Distance Control monitored area.

While the vehicle is stationary, the sensors will not detect an object/person approaching from the side. Also, at vehicle start-up, the vehicle has no sensor information about side objects/persons. In both of these situations, an X displays on the Touch screen in the vehicle's blind spots.

The front, side, and outer rear sensors monitor a 1.2 m area around the vehicle. The inner rear sensors monitor a 1.8 m area at the rear of the vehicle.

The Parking aid system automatically activates when Reverse (R) or Neutral (N) gear is selected, then the front, rear, and side sensors are activated. The sensors remain active until the vehicle's speed reaches 16 km/h (10 mph).

If a forward gear is subsequently selected, the front, and side sensors remain active until the vehicle’s speed reaches 16 km/h (10 mph).

The Parking aid and 360° Park Distance Control system is not available under the following conditions:
1.
The vehicle's speed is greater than 16 km/h (10 mph).

2.
The gear selector is in the Park (P) position.

3.
The wade sensing feature is active.

If none of the conditions listed previously are applicable, the Parking aid and 360° Park Distance Control system can be switched on or off with a short press of the Parking aid switch. The LED lamp illuminates to confirm that the system is active, or extinguishes to confirm that the system is inactive.

The Parking aid and 360° Park Distance Control system automatically activates when:
1.
Reverse (R) gear is selected.

2.
Neutral (N) is selected.

If the system is active and a forward gear is subsequently selected, the sensors remain active until the vehicle’s speed reaches 16 km/h (10 mph), at which point the system is deactivated.

The Parking aid and 360° Park Distance Control system can be configured to automatically activate when:
1.
The vehicle's speed decreases to less than 10 km/h (6 mph).

2.
Drive (D) is selected.

Configuring the automatic activation of the Parking aid and 360° Park Distance Control system can be performed via the Extra Features screen. From the Extra Features screen, select Auto Parking Aid and select ON.

I hope it helps.

Well with the help of the board I have discovered the following, key less lock works best by just pressing the thumb on the recess, wrapping your hand around the handle confuses the RRS. The switching off of the engine does require the start stop mode to be engaged. The only issue that does not seem right now is the front parking sensors , which although I'd like to work all the time is no biggie and will get sorted at service time or before.

Still love the drive, and I must have trained the accelerator peddle to be more direct as it seems much better. Love the smooth fast gear changes, I drive most in Auto mode and this car is very engaging. My only preference would be a slightly less heavy steering input in Dynamic mode but this is not a detraction. The steering mode in my SQ5 is programmable perhaps RR can do this for future variants ? M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Member Autobiography has made an interesting comment in another thread regarding the steering weight comparison between his own SDv6 and the loaner SDv8 that he has. Seems the problem might be the extra weight of the engine rather than the steering system. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Don't think it is the vehicle weight , steering is fine in Auto mode, the tightening up is just a little too much IMO. I'd prefer it to stay the same that way I'm not retraining my brain. We don't have a lot of high speed motorways here so hardly likely to make a dramatic input at speed. I did read his post , but I spent a lot of time researching and test driving and I do not find a similar experience to Auto. May be the car he drove don't know, I have 4,000 k's up now and another 2,000 in the next couple of days so starting to really get to know the car. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Pictures of my leather seats as promised earlier in this thread.

Left seat, which is fine (although note the big crease on the middle seat in the top right corner of the photo).

Now the right seat, which is clearly not the same at the left seat and has too much material, creasing etc. Would be good to get others input on whey think before I make a fuss....

Glad to see the issues have now slipped to the seat back rather than the seat base!!!
