So the screen gets changed for a pioneer one for instance so what happens with the navigation?

Wayne,

It maybe possible to install a Aple Carplay HU in lieu of the OEM touchscreen.

There are currently a few devices on the market that operate as Apple Carplay and Android Auto HU without a CD player.

They have a reduced profile to the rear which may fit in the space vacated by the screen, but, you'd have to measure beforehand...

Units I've seen are:

JBL Legend CP100
Alpine iLX 007

Both are smaller than a traditional double DIN HU behind the screen so may fit.

Hope that gives you some direction.

Cheers

Guy

Wayne I think the Alpine maybe the best option as it's only 3 inches/ 75mm deep, compared to 150mm as most double DIN units... 2006 RRS S/C CONSTANTLY under modification...

so you want to replace the nav screen or the stereo?

search on here for double din and you will find a thread with details on repalcing the factory stereo with a double din. Youi can even get them with proper nav and reverse camera inputs as well. Bodsys Brake Bible

Are you dead set about leaving the radio and replacing the upper screen ?

If not I would take a look at this kit: https://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=4873

That's everything you need to swap out your current head unit for a double din setup, but you still retain full functionality of your upper screen/satnav.

They don't currently do one for the Logic 7 setup, however I'm expecting a call back from them today to have a chat about using me as a guinea pig, fabricating a lead for myself and then making pre made leads to sell on the website.

Hi socast can you tell me if the pioneer AVH-X8700BT Would fit nicely where my old stereo is ( RRS 06 ) and would the back and forward buttons on the steering wheel change tracks for my music?
