My first RRS tdv8 3.6

Hello everyone, I am new in to Range Rover`s always have been a BMW guy so i have decided to try something different,

More about the car

Range Rover Sport
2006
TDV8 3.6
71 000 miles full service history

Bought it as a non runner and i got told that the chains are gone, once i got it back and checked it, it was turbos not the chains Smile

So i had both turbos replaces
alternator replaced
Fitted Autobiography grille
Resprayed the wheels with all new tyres
And also wrapped that wood in to Piano Black
running boards
wheel alignment
both front lower wishbones replaced as it was knocking terribly... still got the knocking sound but from different area in the front, i have read that its the common problem for a rrs. If anyone have quick advise how to fix it please write below, there is thousands of pages in forum to go through didint had time yet Very Happy

also "transmission fault traction reduced error" comes up constantly, no problems while driving or changing gears, diagnostics computer doesnt show anything so i still need to investigate this aswell..

Overall i love driving the car obviously MPG is terrible compared to my previous cars i had Very Happy

hopefully i will get those issues fixed soon Smile

Front end knocking probably anti roll bar bushes. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

cheers for reply. by reading your info below i got a bit shocked how much parts you have changed, in what period of time you have done all that? Shocked

also it does knock aswell if im driving straight and just start turning the steering wheel really quick.

I've had mine for nearly 5 years now. Some of that list was caused by dealership incompetence.

The knocking noise when turning the wheel quickly left and right is a "feature" of the dynamic anti-roll bar system. A clunk when going over a bump is likely the bushes. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

i have read a bit about that "dynamic anti-roll bar system", is it expensive fix? or should i just leave it as it is? as i can see many people have this problem. thanks

The bushes aren't expensive although a bit involved to change because access is restricted. Bushes seem to last about 30-40k miles if used on the potholed tracks that pass for our roads these days. I've had two or three sets over the years, last set only a few weeks ago.

The anti roll bar itself is over a grand to supply and fit if a replacement is required!

My view is get the bushes done straight away to reduce chances of damage to the bar itself. Can't hurt and returns the quiet ride too. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Yes. Some of the more mechanically able members should be able to give some advice if you're planning on DIY. I've heard they can be a bit annoying to do. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Only use genuine LR bushes. It is not an easy DIY so best left to a specialist IMHO. Some of the bolts are inaccessible until the front driveshaft is removed and some other bits have to be moved too. The bolts are usually seized just to make things worse. Where are you in London? Perhaps someone can recommend a good LR specialist for you? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Had the front bushes done by my indie in January. About £150 on the road, from memory. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
