Vibration through steering wheel and car on Acceleration

As above, driving normally no problems at all, but when driving 65 mph on the motorway and I put my foot down to pull away, the steering wheel vibrates and so does the car. As soon as I take my foot off it stops, I can drive 80 mph no problems, smooth as normal. Just had my wheels balanced and it's made no difference. Driving it fast from a start doesn't create this, just at higher speed. It goes out of Warranty in May, I have 21000 on the clock. Is it a trip to the dealers ???

The favoured term for brake discs across the pond. Wink

Check the temperature of your wheels for sticking calipers/EPB shoes. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Check your wheel balancing

most cars wobble at a certain speed level if they require wheel balancing - about £5-£10 a wheel you should try starting with fronts only

Start with the basics IMO

another one to check when the wheels are off is the brake disc retaining bolt(s)- I had plenty of mechanics tell me that these bolts were not important and for manufacturing ease only - from my personal experience I can tell you that is a load of lies & they do have a huge purpose in the whole braking system / vibrations

Thanks, bit had all wheels balanced 1st and still as bad, booked it in at the dealers, they want £95 to inspect it and should it be warranty no charge. Will see what they say, can't see it can be anything worn with only 20 k on the clock and I've never ragged it MY 13 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition

Maybe somethings come out of line or touching something else from a pot hole or bump it's real hard to pin point without a inspection as they suggest and sometimes a road test and further investigation to provoke to problem to pin point.

Best of luck. .. luckily you have warranty

If its vibrating under load (acceleration) I'd check all the drive shaft and prop shaft joints; especially the centre mounting.

Dropped it off Tuesday, they phoned me Wednesday at 5.pm saying they have driven it and can feel the fault, but they have no idea what it could be, they did mention that my tyres have been known to hold water, and could they keep it so they can work on it today. I was expecting some call to give me info on what they have or haven't found, but they have not, so I am still no wiser. MY 13 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition

Water in the Pirelli 20" tyres is the cause of this problem. I asked how often I will need to "empty my tyres" Laughing Laughing Laughing
They said Pirelli have an update and a sealant around the rim, so hopefully this is the end of it. MY 13 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition
