As above, though heights can be adjusted (together, but not individually) with an appropriate diagnostic tool. The IID, for instance, allows you to save 3 preset heights. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

All this advice and information from someone who has never actually owned one of these vehicles. I'm very impressed. Cheers Col Last edited by Col on Thu Feb 18 2016 10:13am. Edited 1 time in total |

Just to add, there is actually "Extended" and "Super Extended" available above Off-Road height, but they're non-user-selectable (the car has to sense on obstruction). Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

A warranty isn't entirely essential - put money aside instead, and in the long run, the probability is that it would save you money. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Oh, I'm not saying a warranty doesn't ease cashflow, but as the facts go, that's how things stand. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

With a little negotiating my local main dealer is doing the belts, idlers and water pump for just over £700 tomorrow its on a 3.0L so don't know how much difference that will make. Worth calling them and asking or there best price. |

I agree, put money aside....The shop and dealer will take all your money on simple job such as brake/rotor replacement and schedule maintenance. Can you do the work yourself. |

I would suggest that a book full of stamps from a known good indie would be a better bet. Dealers charge silly hourly rates and seem to view a good job as something that happens by accident. At the much lower indie charging rates, the previous owner is more likely to have chosen/been able to afford to have done extra jobs on top of the normal service. What you really want is a big pile of receipts itemising work done; sadly, if you buy from a dealer (or most other garages) these are removed and all you see is the service book with stamps. My service record is quite comprehensive and shows suspension bushes done between services, for example, because that's when they needed doing. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
