Looks like my NSF xenon is on the way out...light is now pink !

I recommend Osram Original Line. 4300K gives the best efficacy, best colour rendering and is more eye-friendly. The other so-called performance bulbs like Night Breakers etc. genuinely do not give any extra light yet also don't last as long. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

The beam feels like it has a better definition. By that I mean the standard bulbs seem to have a noticeable coloured fringe at the top of the beam pattern. This is most obvious when close behind another car. The Nightbreakers don't seem to have this; the beam is cleaner.

Looking at your figures, I notice a tolerance of +/-15%. So two bulbs could have as much as 30% difference. That's the best part of 1000lm for the 3200lm units. That would certainly be noticeable. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

As you say, the graphs are a marketing thing. Tolerance is there, but the D2S bulbs hit the ECE spec limit of 3200lm so they can't actually go brighter on average and remain legal. The colour temperature plays with our eyes because we can see it much, much more accurately than luminous intensity.

Xenon beams on my RRS are much better than than any car I have had previously and they were all halogen. The extension of the beam down the road, the quality of illumination along the verges and the clean cut off of the beam top are all excellent. When fitted with the Nightbreaker in both xenon and H7 infill beams, the performance (in terms of how far down the road I could see and make out detail) was improved over the standard fitment. I do notice the "orange" (for want of a better description) of the H7 standard fitment fill-in units in my current headlights. These are standard because they came with the bulbs fitted when I bought them as replacements last month. I will be changing them for the Nightbreaker units again because I prefer the result. As I said, I notice a difference and prefer the non-standard setup. I'm aware that there are perceptive differences at play in terms of colour temperature etc.; I don't think I'm suffering from confirmation bias in my preference for the Nightbreakers although how can I ever know for sure... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

....Just to update, - I went with these from HIDS4U and after a week of use have to say that they are a perfectly good replacement at a reasonable price for the pair Carl |
