Protune remap

Looking to get the TDV8 remapped. After an improvement in economy as much as smoother power delivery.

My local Indi who looks after the car is pushing ProTune. Has anyone got a ProTune remap on a TDV8 and if so what they think of it?

Thanks for the help.

I would only advise going for a company who has built themselves up as a specialist LR tuner Thumbs Up

A garage near me uses the same system. Definitely generic and can do almost any car. they pay about £75 for the 'remap'.
I'm down your way next week if you wanted a tried and trusted BAS remap and your ecu updated to the latest LR engine software. Bodsys Brake Bible

Well, Bodsy came down as promised, on time, and updated all the ECU software and installed a BAS remap.

We took it for a test drive and I wasn't quite happy so he fiddled with it again with a bit of help from Pete Bell the other end of the phone and we had another go.

Bloody marvellous. Goes exceptionally well and I suspect I have gained a bit more economy. Will find out for sure this weekend as I have a 250 mile run to do.

Couldn't wish to find a nicer guy than Ian. Very knowledgable and cleared up a few other questions while he was at it.

To be recommended.

A pleasure to meet you Nigel and to have a look at another of BAS's past defenders Thumbs Up

Can you remind me of the name of the security door bars you put on? Got a couple of defender friends who are interested in getting some for theirs. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Follow up

Just in the way of an unscientific follow up to this thread...

Before Bodsy did the BAS remap I did a run to yorkshire and back. Cruise control was set to 77 mph for all the motorway/dual carriageway work. There were bits of backroad work either end. The average mpg was 24.1 and the computer number was backed up by the refill milage calculation.

Just done a similar run this weekend to the Cotswolds. Cruise control set to the same 77mph number and the run, although a bit shorter, felt like a similar % of motorway vs back roads. The computer said 26.9 average mpg. Not filled up again yet but looking at the miles done vs the diesel left in the tank it is significantly better than I have achieved before.

So I am happy that mpg has improved by 10% as a direct result of the remap. On the milage I do the cost will be paid back in 15 months. The bonus is that it's feeling much more enthusiastic, especially in the mid/overtaking range.

Very happy with the result.[/b]

That's great to hear Nigel, thanks for updating the thread. Thumbs Up

My own experience was 6% improvement on mine but then you have seen the amount of Censored I carry around in the back of my car! Laughing Thumbs Up

Great result though. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible
