Determining air compressor type

Hi everybody,

Just a quick question...

Is there an easy way to determine which air compressor I have installed for the EAS? I know initially I had an Hitachi. Then I presume in 2009 when it was replaced, another Hitachi was installed.

However after that this was replaced in July 2010 under warranty by a 3rd compressor... Is there a way to tell if this is:

1 An Hitachi
2 An early AMK or
3 The new AMK?

I've got an IID Tool also if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

Oh and if you're wondering it's because I want to get a service kit as the compressor is humming and running more than it should be...

Thanks again

With the IID, select ECU Flashing > Suspension and choose the option to indentify the firmware. It's possible for the AMK to be fitted but the firmware not updated though, in which case you'd need to check under the cover AFAIK. Firmware is the same for either AMK version but it would be the original type available then, which is what I'd expect to have been fitted. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Just bear in mind then that you may want to do a physical check then just in case the software hasn't been updated correctly. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

France

Well that's been an interesting few weeks...
I have replaced 2 compressors for the suspension the 1st one OE from Land Rover dealership was kindly fitted by one of the Disco 3 guys, thanks Kris, however it came back with a fault on the exhaust so he refitted the old one as I was heading off to France. Kris returned the new compressor as faulty and they sent a new replacement which I had fitted yesterday but didn't have the tool to do the update. So I took it to DSL in Worksworth Derbyshire and paid the princely sum of £54 for them to update the software and this has also come back with a fault on the exhaust.

Any ideas!!!
