3 pages of fault codes !

Hi all,

Relative newcomer to the forum. I have had my 2007 RRS TDV8 for just over a year now and already had new suspension, wishbones, sump etc etc. Driving back from France last week I had every single warning light appear. Stopped, ignition off and then after 10 minutes it re-set. This happened 5 times on the way home Censored Now in the Garage and they had 3 pages of fault codes but the car is fine - nothing wrong. Any ideas ??

Rapidly falling out of love with RRSport...

Hi there.

There is most likely 3 pages of fault codes as they have never been cleared before or certainly not for a long time. If these codes have never been cleared then the car will still show every single fault every recorded. Best thing you can do is have them reset and then drive the car for a bit. If/when your faults come back then have it scanned for codes.

Out of interest do you remember what faults the car showed? Often alot of faults can be related to one simple thing like alternator, battery or even wheel alignment.

Hi, thanks for the response. I have only had the car back from the last repair for 2 weeks and I know they cleared all the fault codes then. Most of the codes were for reduced Traction, HDC fault, Cruise control unavailable, etc etc. I have read other posts which suggest the brake switch so I'll try to get that fixed first.

Yes the brake switch is a common fault. Im sure someone will be along soon to give some more input.

Did you have the wheel alignment set again after having new suspension arms fitted? The steering wheel sits straight when on a straight bit of road and not off centre?

Yes, had 4-wheel alignment and two new front tyres as part of the wishbone fix.

Sounds like they aren't too familiar at dealing with fault codes. Brake switch is a possibility, and check (replace) the brake bulbs as a matter of course (ensure they're decent quality ones). Also check the basics - battery and alternator voltages. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the advice. Local Indy, recommended and they did a pretty good job on the other stuff that has already gone wrong. Not sure about the steering angle sensor though, I'll check the paperwork.

Thanks again.
