Considering all the other names being thrown about, I would think Toyota would be the best for LR. Look at how advanced they are... .

I believe, if ever LR is to be sold, a Japanese touch would be in order. Especially the interior and accessories. Malaysia Boleh!
4.2SC Chawton White, Stormers
Tasmod's Sills, Wind Deflectors, LR Sills
Clear Side Repeaters, Towbar
Larini Sports Exhaust, K&N Air Filter

Hmm... I'd be surprised if Ford do drop LR. Jaguar aren't making any money and are a bit of a dead weight for Ford but LR are supposedly doing well - mostly off the back off the RRS from what I read.

Time will tell I suppose... Confused

exactly why they might consider selling the both together then, noone would buy Jag on their own, but jag loosing money, and LR making money.. hmm.. definitely a better package as the hit won't be as much, and they would beable to get more for the pair obviously..

pfft talking about car companies like they are monopoly board properties! guess for some people it is all just a larger scale game..

I'm having t an idea what not to separate the LR from Jaguar or why not Jaguar come with some 4x4 keeping Jaguar name all car manufacture are considering\g SUV the best market for them at least in meddle east where i live...so Jaguar brought the engines for LR why not landrover build for the rest Laughing to have one Jaguar 4x4
Maybe that will boost Jaguar cars for better sale records

Perhaps this is where LR's E technology is coming from. Toyota are years ahead when it comes to Hybrid vehicles. So it would make good sense if Toyota did buy LR.
So I think Toyota would be good for LR. It might also explain the lack of development in Toyota's big 4x4's. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Good point, Kam.. didn't think of it like that.

What then for Volvo - it'll be the lone PAG marque won't it?

Fiona - I really don't think reliability is an issue. Only once in 14 months of ownership have I not had a perfect journey and even then it was a simple case of switching off and resetting the car. I know thers havn't been so lucky on this forum but the very nature of forums tend to attract people seeking solutions to problems and so the view is biased. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

I suppose LR has a reputation of not being the most reliable. I'm like you VA - 11 months ownership and really not a single problem (yet).

I guess it must be a image thing you always hear folks saying "oh don't buy LR the dealer will become your family" type thing. I must be brain washed into automatically saying reliability and LR in the same sentence Rolling Eyes

TBH though I have owned a good few LR and never really had any problems.

Just with the dealers.
