You don't learn, do you? Shocked 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

No - that's why I bought another LR after all my previous problems Big Cry

I blame SWMBO - she should choose an Audi or BMW but she's as bad as me when it comes to LR's Rolling Eyes

To be fair after paying approx £500 pa for servicing on previous RRS's I snapped up servicing package at £495 for 5 years although found out afterwards the DS gets serviced every 2 years so really it's only 4 years but it does include Adblue top ups which will be needed annually I think Confused

Still at least with 2 year servicing that halves the chance of it falling off a ramp, etc Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Every 2 years. Shocked Oh FFS! Rolling Eyes

I'd get some intermediate oil changes done if I were you, at a good indy, then you will at least have someone with sense keeping an eye on it. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Two year service interval - JLR have to be joking; long service intervals to reduce the total cost of ownership over the first three years & thus appeal to buyers - false economy.

I suggest you change the oil & oil filter every 6 months if you are going to keep the car.

Yes I think intermediate oil change is wise Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

SWMBO Octavia has 20k/2yr service intervals. Needless to say it gets an annual service at MOT time every year. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

5 year servicing is a great idea for MW Thumbs Up

The next owner will benefit from the remaining 4 years if it's transferable Rolling with laughter

Hey Muddy, just caught up on the DS saga - pretty shoddy behaviour by LR! Really sorry you have had to endure such a fiasco - they have such good products but such rubbish dealers. That said I still love dealing with Chris at Roger Young in Plymouth - he cannot try harder to keep his customers pleased. Sadly I am also due to move on to a new car in the next couple of months (my HSE Black will hopefully be up for sale on here soon). I have decided to leave LR for now in an attempt to save money too (just about to buy a house near Bath so massive mortgage coming my way...and couldn't get a good enough deal on a Disco Sport.). So ....I have ordered a brand new Skoda Superb Estate 280 TSI 4x4 in Moon White with 19" anthracite wheels, DSG paddles and panoramic roof and lots of stuff (actually I think I ticked almost every box - oops). However I did get a 22% discount (£9000) and extended 4 year warranty so probably not the financial black hole it may appear! I will desperately miss the HSE Black - it has been awesome, not only reliable but a great companion that continues to surprise me even now with its range of capability - but needs must and I need to reduce my monthly payment to sensible levels. My longer term plan is to swap my wife's Corsa for a new Defender when it comes out....can't leave the brand alone for too long eh? Again really sorry about your saga, but hopefully you will soon start to love the car and really enjoy it. All the very best, Anthony. HSE Black - Orkney Grey, ivory leather, privacy glass, tow bar. GBNF - Discover 4 XS Nara Bronze (11); Discovery 3 HSE, Zermatt Silver (57); Discovery 3 HSE, Buckingham Blue (55); Volvo V70 Titanium SE (53); Audi A4 1.9 TDI SE, Denim Blue (02); Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6, Black (99-V); VW Corrado VR6, Red (92-K); Toyota MR2, Racing Green (94-M); Nissan Sunny GTI, Red (92-K); Mk1 Toyota MR2 T-bar, Red (89-G); Citroen AX GT, Red (87-E); Talbot Horizon, Snot Green (83-A, I think).

Cheers Anthony Bow down

I got rid of Black Edition for similar reasons and now enjoying village life in a very nice house with bigger mortgage than I would like but worth the sacrifice Cool

Really like Bath and considered relocating there so know too well how expensive it is - good luck with the move and the new car - very good discount Thumbs Up

Decided to take the silver foglight trim and get my £400 goodwill released to draw this saga to a close. I've had months of battling with LR, EE, santander, O2, Yorkshire water, etc and just want an easy new year. Life's for living not fighting and my health is more important than the colour of my roof rails Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Completely agree - life is too short. It's a great car so just start enjoying it and don't let the useless dealers get you down! HSE Black - Orkney Grey, ivory leather, privacy glass, tow bar.
