Without sounding cynical I'm surprised you find that you are being offered less 11 months on.

I understand that but to depreciate by 23k in 11 months is a bit wild. Anyway I am not asking about that basically want to know if any other guys who own an overfinch does it state this on the log book as evidence that it's a genuine one. I wouldn't have thought so but the car dealer is telling me otherwise.

Afaik Overfinch and Revere and Kahn buy cars from LR high are registered in whatever guise they are bought (HSE etc) then they go about creating their 'art' on them and sell them. But I can't see how they would ever get their name on the logbook as the vehicle model unless they register them for new (which I don't think they do) Bodsys Brake Bible

Overfinch are only recognise by insurance companies, not the DVLA. Although Overfinch may tell you their vehicles are worth xxx amount over a standard spec vehicle, no dealer is going to give you what you think it is worth with all the Overfinch parts fitted. Sorry to burst your bubble. As suggested, sell it privately, then approach the Merc dealer for a better deal.

I put an over finch body kit and bespoked the whole interior which cost me a fair few bob. I knew i wouldn't make my money back so just draw line in the sand and move on. Wether you buy direct from Overfinch or have it done y a third party, you have money to burn so who cares at the end of the day??!? 2006 RRS Supercharged 4.2 HST muthuaflecka! |

It's a modified car, people are always suspicious of them so dealer think they will be left with it on the forecourt for ages or have to put it through an auction. There is a tiny market for any of the modified RRS's and most people buying a used one want it as close to normal/standard as possible. Unfortunately you have to accept the cost of "individuality". I was one of the ones that lost a packet on trading in a 12 month old Evoque in March this year, mine was a very high spec Lux Plus Black Pack with most of the options with a not popular colour outside and tan and ebony interior............... despite the dealer being concerned that it might hang around on their forecourt it sold within 10 days and 9 months later has just been traded in again against a FFRR, 2nd time around it didn't even stay a day on the forecourt, somebody saw it and bought it within hours of it being ahnded in. Dealer has won out 3 times over on selling a not popular colour that might be hard to sell on that doubtless lost a packet between the time I sold it in March and the last guy sold it last month. It's been a gold mine for the dealers! but a money pit for the owners! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

As said. I've spent a lot on mine I don't care about part ex value. I got it cheap a one owner and enjoy owning it. When I trade it in ill just get a few prices on a newer model and go from there. |

The only time details can be changed on a vehicle log book are when a significant change has been made I.e. Not just cosmetic changes...historically Overfinch would have claimed they were a manufacturer similar to Alpina as they took a shell from the production line and significantly altered it by placing an American spec V8 in it and changing and updating suspension...nowadays they are little more than an alloy wheel and trim kit seller and therefore have no right as a manufacturer per se.....
