Remember, with a remap, you don't use all the extra power that much, only overtaking etc, however the drivability with a remap is another subject altogether. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

It can be if the transmission is not healthy though. Even with a healthy box, a bad remap could cause damage - it's about power and torque delivery, rather than outright power/torque. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Actually the gearbox in the SC is upgraded slightly to handle the power. Having said that, a 2.7 with a map isn't going to getting anywhere near the standard gearbox's threshold. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The SC does have the speed, but the torque of the TDV8 will put the gearbox under the most strain. It's the torque delivery of a badly remapped diesel that can be the real killer. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

As I said, have a chat to Pete Bell at BAS, he will not lead you down the wrong path. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

Yes, the 6HP26 has an input torque of 650Nm. The TDV8 has 640Nm as standard. No doubt the 'box has a factor of safety built in and can actually handle twice that but we'll never know.

I wonder if LR fitted the same uprated gearbox to the TDV8 as on the SC... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
