Dummies guide to IID suspension adjustment needed

As per the title does anyone have experience of alterations for suspension height using an IID Bluetooth tool?

My understanding is that I can save 3 settings in the tool to cover access, normal and offroad height and just plug in and change saved settings as required.

I would like to have,

Setting 1. -20mm to cover all modes.
Setting 2. Standard height to cover all modes
Setting 3. +???? To cover offroad work. What can I safely use as the +figure? (Is 48mm to much?)

Anyone used this feature on IID?

I did do a custom height setting on my IID a year or so ago. Can't remember the details though but sure the info is in the user guide. I went for a +25 setting as a trial for an off road day I went on. Gave a 75mm lift at off road height.

From memory it was a simple process of setting the height required on the calibration screen (you raise the vehicle to the height you want to store) and then storing it; the store/restore are calibration menu items.

Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Scratch that. The new menu structure means you'd adjust using the height menu and then use the save my settings option in the save/restore menu.

Be aware that the height changes are cumulative so if you set it -20 for access and them want to set a +50 for off road you need to go back to your normal height first. Otherwise you'd have to add 20 + 50 if going straight from the lower access height.

The manual covers setting heights and saving them. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Not able to give any info on min/max settings as I haven't played with it enough. It might be a trial and error, especially for the access height as that will, when too low, send it to off road height automatically. I'm fairly sure I read in the manual (or on here) that, because each vehicle has its own calibration, each vehicle will have slightly different max and min heights that it can go to. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Yes i think it is prob slightly different, for each car has its own calibration,. All im really after is a rough idea of safe lowering figure so access is still available and a safe increase figure for offroad. I can then use these as a base and tweak from there!

The possible issue with increasing offcroad base height too far is that you run out of movement earlier. That is, if the vehicle is running at +50 for the standard height and you then select off road mode, you get 100mm over the stock height. Great, but that only leaves you with a small emergency lift available in the event that you bottom out. Also, you don't give the suspension much scope to articulate. I think the car can provide up to 125mm of suspension rise over stock "normal" height.

I did try a setting of +25 which seemed OK. I guess you'll just have to have a play and see what it feels like.

If you want full flexibility in height settings, you can get a plug in module that allows on the fly driver selectable heights via a dashboard switch. Thus you can add / subtract height at will. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

One issue that's important to remember, is that once you get really high, the risk of pulling a driveshaft out on full lock becomes very real (as well as generally increased stress on the CV joints) - it's strongly recommended to keep the wheels as straight as possible should you ever find yourself in super-extended mode!
