yes, but considering LR solihull still knock out mini panels, and they invested a shed load of cash into LR, plus they own mini anyway, and have already nicked most of the technology i.e. x drive, if i was Bmw i would buy em back.. the sport is kicking the hell out of the X5, and going on the new pics of the latest X5, will probably continue doing so..

what about the powerplants, thats what i would be worried about?
only just seemed to get out of the Bmw engines, and now they are being flogged again, now they have just got rid of the old TD6 and got decent engines coming for the future too..

I went around the Mini factory two weeks ago. The panels are not coming from Land Rover any more. They are all coming in from Swindon.
The panels no longer have the laser weld seem either. Matt

Rolling Eyes ok, as you've asked Smile . I used to work for DENSO as a AC development engineer (if you dont know them, they are very closely associated with Toyota - used to be owned by them back in the 50/60's) and while spending some time in Japan heard many times about Toyota's huge cash surplus and at the time their ongoing interest in BMW - I still have comms with my friends in Japan and many times over the last 5 years they have reiterated this situation. Senior Toyota personnel have visited LR many times in the past to look around Wink
