First service...when?

My RRS has only done 6500 miles and is now 7 months old. It's asking for the first service but how can that br right? LRPR currently have my car and the service advisor was also surprised to see the service light on so quickly as usually its' 12 months or 12k miles.

When was your first service? Thanks

Your engine oil level isn't rising by any chance?

If so there could be a DPF issue needs fixing, and pronto. I would usually expect to see a DPF warning first, but not sure if RR software echoes Jaguar or not. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Have a similar problem, only the service warning is showing on my Incontrol Remote app. but not in the vehicle.
RRS is 9 months old and done 9,800 miles. Not due for a service till 2nd March 2016 or sooner if I do enough milage according to my Dealer. Spoken to Incontrol they couldn't help and told me to contact Land Rover who have tried to fix the problem to no avail. They (LR) have now told me to contact my Dealer which I have. They (Dealer) say they dont know what's causing it but it's safe to drive and they will look into the problem.

Has anybody got any any suggestions other than deleting the Incontrol App?

There's currently a field action by LR, Q519. There's a software issue, meaning the DPF is failing regeneration, contaminating the oil quality and bringing the service light on prematurely. Take it into the dealer, who'll reconfigure the PCM as required, and if necessary replace the throttle body (only certain batches require this step), and then if your service light has come on, they'll carry out an oil and filter change under warranty.

Hope this helps Thumbs Up

Thanks for your help GUM97. Mine was one of the batch you mentioned, Had the throttle body replaced and a sensor changed 3 weeks ago, but they made no mention of oil or filter change. This now has me worried. Should I contact them and quiey it ? I must admit that the only service warning I'm getting is on my Incontrol Control App.and not on the RRS display.

Currently got the same issue with my L405.

Service required message showing on my L405 despite last service carried out in May. Anyway I called out LR assist who carried out diagnostic checks and no faults was showing.

However thanks to this thread I then asked him to check the oil level, he realised straight away their was a problem, the engine oil has an excess amount of contaminated oil present and would require an oil & filter change.

It's now been booked in to my local dealer to get it sorted out. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

What does contaminated, overfilled oil do to the engine and emissions/economy/performance? Shocked MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

Well I was told by the LR assist technician that if i drove it any longer I would have Censored the engine!

Glad I got it checked out as I have a 600 mile trip on the weekend and I was going to take the L405! Shocked

So if anyone gets a premature service requires message don't ignore it, get the oil level checked out. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

JasM, was the warning on your L405 display in cab, as mine (RRS) is only showing on my Incontrol Remote App. The only warning I had prior to Recall was the DPF warning, had no service required warning on RRS display.
Spoken the Grange Motors Service who carried out the throttle body, sensor and software change, they told me that as it was only the software permaturely bringing the DPF warning on, the oil would be OK.
Land Rover and Grange haven't any idea as to why the Incontrol App is still showing a warning, or any idea as to how to fix it.

The InControl warnings don't appear to be reset. Mime is still showing a TPMS warning.

Yes the message was showing on the TFT screen/ Cluster, my car doesn't have Incontrol fitted, was an optional extra the time.

I would get them to check the oil level, only way of knowing whether it requires an oil change. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Thanks JasM, I think I'll do what you suggested and get them to check oil level and put my mind at rest.
