If it's the original Rrs tdv8 vs facelift 3.0 then I'd personally go with the facelift. |

I'd be inclined to go for the face lifted model, far nice interior. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

![]() The 3.6 TDV8 is the least reliable of the three diesels! Yes, there's the oil pump issue with the earlier TDV6 engines (but this is preventable), but turbo failures will vastly outnumber the cam-belt related issues, and the TDV8 suffers the most in this regard. The 3.0 is the most reliable option, having taken advantage of improvements to the original design - and this applies to the whole facelift vehicle, not just the engine. The only way you can buy these cars is to go on what's available in your price range. A facelift is always a better option, but not of it's a dud. A good pre-facelift is better than bad post facelift. Good luck. ![]() 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Auto HSE Zambezi Silver ![]() |

But there are many, many TDV8's out there that have never had a problem, mine included. I do think letting it warm up and cool down helps with this though. |

Yep, RRS/D3/D4 - all the same underneath, so any will do the towing nicely; it's just how much you want the added practicality of the Disco and the styling differences.
Absolutely. ![]() 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Auto HSE Zambezi Silver ![]() |
