I have 20" alloys and do not know what is the best performing tyre available.
I have tried which.co.uk but they do not do larger tyres.
Any help?

Proper all weather / all season tyres are rare. Most 4x4/SUV tyres are marked as M&S but this doesn't mean they're all season, just that the grooves between the tread blocks are a bit bigger than normal tyres.

For true "all season" use, you're basically looking at the Pirelli Verde All Season:

This is the tyre that is being fitted by Land Rover to many of the new range of vehicles.

Some people, particularly on Disco3, run the Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme winter tyre all year and report that it's fine - I would think that it depends on your driving style though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I don't like the idea of running winter tyres in the summer as they are a softer compound & wear out quicker,,I left my winters on a merc sprinter we used for mobile fitting over the summer & the hot Tarmac against the soft rubber just chewed them off in no time.

As I said, it probably depends on your driving style and use. For someone doing most of their miles up and down the motorway it'll probably make little difference - assuming the wheel alignment is ok. For someone driving around town, on twisty roads or, dare I say it, "making progress", the wear rate will be much more of an issue.

The Disco3 people who do this seem to find decent wear rates which suggests that they potter about or do big motorway miles. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Just fitted a set of Genuine 20" 2015 wheels and 255/55/20 Pirelli Verde All Season Tyres to my 2006 RRSs/c.
Having just completed a trip in Warm/Hot conditions (30c) they performed very well and are quite and smooth riding.
The only drawback ?? is the size of the tyre means that the speedo is under reading i.e. @ 100kph your actually doing 108kph
Terrific for fuel comsumption not so good for speeding fines. Overcame that by fitting a modern upto date GPS

Just adding to my previous post on this matter.
Just did a 1600 klm round trip from Melbourne to Bathurst on the weekend on the Pirelli Verde All Season tyres.
They performed really well in different weather conditions on all types of reasonable surfaces including paddocks.
They were quite, except on the concrete sections of the Hume freeway in New South Wales, but that might be a problem for any tyre.

Shame that Verde is not available in the standard size 275/40 R20....

General Grabber GT, i have ran a set through last winter and this summer, so can say they are good in the snow and the rain/wet weather. and wearing quite well

Someone commented that Bridgestone Dueller HP Sports are grippier on wet and dry road. GT are supposed to be the successors of UHP so no doubt that it's the better M+S tyre from General. I would personally be interested in a comparison with Pirellis Zero Assimetrico, over the disco3 website the feedback is that Pirellis are better than GTs.
