Suspension Warning Light???.... Yup another of these posts!

Well the amber suspension warning light has been on our 2006 RRS for quite a few weeks. I have read all the posts on here but still no clue what could be causing ours to come on and get the same response from our garage too!

It comes on when turning or when the road slopes up or down making the suspension wobble to side (not sure if explaining that right! Lol!). It will go off when engine turned off but when light comes on it just says normal ride height only. Can raise and lower suspension no problems and the 4x4 screen shows all bars level. The compressor makes no noise and both sides lift evenly.

The RRS is parked up in the garage and comes out once or twice a week and when getting in her the suspension has dropped to lowest height but not set in the settings for access height. My husband has owned a RRS previously and says this is normal when they are stood a while. Also I have noticed once that the front rises before the back (or other way round I can't remember!) but again hubby says this is normal. Is it normal?

Had MOT and service done last week thinking they would find the fault but nothing. Had wheel bearing replaced on rear and rear bushes but diagnostics have brought up no codes and can find no faults on any sensors or anything.

We are only getting this one warning light so not sure if battery causing this fault. What else can we look for? Quite stumped at this!? Sorry for long post! Anything we can look at before going back to garage and if garage can't find anything how the hell can we find it!? Lol!

I would look at battery and what voltage it is holding, a drop in volts will give some strange faults.
Also check the charge voltage from the alternator. Lot of Landcruisers now sold
Audi TT 240 Sport now sold for.
RRS 2.7 HSE Now sold for.
RRS Autoibiography 2012
Defender 300tdi 90

If the suspension height drops when it has been parked for a couple of days, then it indicates that there is a leak in the air system. This is usually one of the air springs leaking, but could also be one of the valve blocks. It's easy enough to diagnose yourself, by disabling the air suspension computer, and seeing which corner drops.

The warning light could be coming on as a result, or because the ECU has detected that the compressor is getting too hot, when it fills up the air reservoir.

When changing ride heights, it should lower by the front first, and raise by the rear first. This is by design, as it prevents the headlights lifting and dazzling anyone Cool

More likely a valve block than a leaking suspension air bag.

There may be a height sensor on the way out. If there was a calibration error resulting from a more serious issue ( cross articulation error), the car would bottom out when being driven.

Actually, I'd check the height sensors on the corner(s) which had suspension work done. Check it's properly plugged in etc. Also check the wire to the sensor in case it's been damaged. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks everyone. Some great tips on what to look at. There is only the one warning light and message so not sure it will be the battery. I will get voltages checked though and get her checked for the leaks.

Hopefully something simple rather than a new compressor. I am certain the compressor had been replaced before we bought her as that is one of the things on our list to make sure done before we bought.

She has had work on from and rear arms but the message started after front arms were checked as after the new arms we had a clunk at slow speed on full lock in either direction and when it went into garage for new door lock motor (I think it was that! ) they tightened a nut somewhere underneath? This stopped the clunk but then this started with the warning. After reading on here I said about resting the steering back to '0' but my husband says they have done this?

Not sure where to take her to be checked as not had too good an experience at local 4x4 place with them repairing parking sensors and they failing again a week later and them saying they would charge again to strip it all down and if not where they repaired we wipould be charged again! So don't want to take back there! Can anyone recommend a good Land Rover mechanic/garage in West Yorkshire?
