England 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

My battery has caught me out twice in my first week of ownership, my TDV8 had sat in previous keepers garage for a few weeks before I bought, and as it's new to me I've been playing with everything electrical all week... first time went flat when I was setting up memory seats and lazy entry! and then again last night.
I've given it a charge now and put a jump pack in the boot in case, and I've got a couple of hundred mile run at the weekend so might be ok after, but if it goes again I may just replace for peace of mind...

Is the above Tayna link the same battery for TDV8?

Can anyone explain what the 017 and 019 means?

ahh, the actual physical size of the battery? thanks!

Well the Tayna website when searching is saying I need 019, but the link above is 017! obviously you guys have fitted and recommended the one in the link so that's good enough for me (if I need one)

Wilson, it would be worth checking your rear glass hatch switch for corrosion - the upper tailgate section. This switch is a known issue and can lead to battery drain. It's an easy DIY fix for a few quid.

As for a charging whilst driving, it takes several hours to fully charge the battery by driving. It's worth checking the battery's voltage (leave it 12 hours after driving it and once you open the bonnet leave it 10 minutes to go to sleep). Be worth keeping an eye on it as the TDV8 is known to have alternator problems over time. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I think that's a myth to be honest, from what I've seen. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
