Anyone hardwired a dashcam in L494?

I have a Blackvue with hardwire/power save kit. There is a guide here to hardwire it for L320 which helped me to do it in the previous car. Haven't found anything for L494. It needs a permanent live, a switched live and an earthed connection.

Anyone tried this?

Edit: Blackvue hardwiring guide added further on in this topic. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I am in exactly the same position and need the same info. I collect the car in 2 weeks and want to install the Blackvue camera, wanted 2 channel, but thats a camera front and back and I do not like the idea of running the coax wire from the back, so will most likley just go with the front mounted camera. I am not sure I would trust the option of their own installers.. I am a Mech engineer, so should be able to self install. D4 2012 Santorini Black gone

I hardwired and removed the same camera myself in the previous 2 Sports. There seems to less gap between the A pillar trim and the adjacent surfaces in the new one and may be tricky to run the cable to the glove compartment fuse box. Can't see how to open the overhead console easily either. Not feeling brave enough to be pulling it apart on day 2 Laughing

Would be good if we can leverage knowledge from someone who has done it. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

I would be interested in any help as well. Probably just going to wire in my front camera into the overhead panel but it looks very different to my old model and don't want to break it just yet !!! MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

We are due to take delivery in early October and fitting a dash cam is one of the first jobs, so would be very interested if anyone has installed with a permenant feed on the RRS2.

As I want the parking mode it will need a permenant live feed, I assume everything on the RRS2 shuts down ten minutes after the vehicle has been locked as it does on the Evoque. If so a live feed will need to come from the fuse box, no idea where this is located on RRS2 but it is under/behind the glove box on the Evoque.

There was a lot of discussion on babyrr.com on how to take a permenant live feed, here is one link http://babyrr.com/forum/Thread-Wanted-Guid...g-dash-cam

Not having a clue but can you use the surround camerars if fitted instead of having the thing on your dash and then just plug some type of video recorder into the system .

Technically I doubt there would be a problem to incorporate this feature at the factory BUT its a Land Rover, so nothing is easy. 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018

In addition to linking a recorder to the surround cameras, keeping them alive (while conserving battery) when the car is sleeping may also be tricky. Plus Blackvue and other purpose built dash cams have event recording, motion activated recording etc. to only record when needed in parked mode. GPS to tag location to recording is another feature that comes to mind.

I don't have surround cameras anyway (just the rear one). Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
