I have a Blackvue with hardwire/power save kit. There is a guide here to hardwire it for L320 which helped me to do it in the previous car. Haven't found anything for L494. It needs a permanent live, a switched live and an earthed connection.

I am in exactly the same position and need the same info. I collect the car in 2 weeks and want to install the Blackvue camera, wanted 2 channel, but thats a camera front and back and I do not like the idea of running the coax wire from the back, so will most likley just go with the front mounted camera. I am not sure I would trust the option of their own installers.. I am a Mech engineer, so should be able to self install. D4 2012 Santorini Black gone

Not having a clue but can you use the surround camerars if fitted instead of having the thing on your dash and then just plug some type of video recorder into the system . |

Technically I doubt there would be a problem to incorporate this feature at the factory BUT its a Land Rover, so nothing is easy. 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018

In addition to linking a recorder to the surround cameras, keeping them alive (while conserving battery) when the car is sleeping may also be tricky. Plus Blackvue and other purpose built dash cams have event recording, motion activated recording etc. to only record when needed in parked mode. GPS to tag location to recording is another feature that comes to mind.

Folks, I don't want to hijack the subject but does anybody know of anybody in Central London who can supply and fit one of these?
