United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Sumatra Black

Happens when the Sat Nav has not woken up to its location properly (or the road is new) and the car hasn't passed a sign.

Thanks for the suggestion Phil, but unless the Nav has narcolepsy; we had driven 9miles!! other times car has been travelling for longer - it never picks up smaller roads like my previous X5 used to

As far as I'm aware, the L405/L494 version is NOT supported by a database and is camera only. InControl Touch on the Evoque and Disco Sport is supported by a nav database. Mine has the --- on the L405 quite frequently. Couple that with the crap HUD, and it's a great way to waste £1600.

When I turn into my lane (from a 40) the limit changes to 60 without any sign. Must be linked to the Nav.

Occasionally going into a NSL area the display will show the black bar through the while circle sign, but mostly comes up with 60. This also suggests it is linked to the Nav.

And IMHO the HUD is great.

Strange as mine doesn't do that!

And my HUD is barely visible on a clear day because of the reflection. I'm guessing it could be different on the Sport.

All our local roads are rarely picked up; the other half drives it like she stole it, hence why we went for it...waste of £600 me thinks (will ask the dealer when it goes in on the 18th) though would never not have a car without HUD ; I love it.

Mate of mine loves his HUD is X6M

Curious - your 405 is one of the first with the HUD isn't it. Did they fit the solar glass originally (I know they do now)?

Yes it was fitted the first week of production. The glass is marked HUD by the Land Rover badge. Is yours?

My last RRS2 used to regularly display a "no overtaking sign" on motorways and dual carriageways, as well as random speed limits. Shame because you do quickly get used to it,Mao good for it to be accurate, like the example here, sometimes mid journey it would decide to sho --- as well for no apparent reason.

Speed limit display is definitely linked to the Sat Nav now: Just drove along a road where the limit has recently changed and the signs moved with the camera taped over and the display changes to show the old limit where the signs used to be. Drove back with the camera uncovered and it shows the new limit.

The display shows --- when on a road where the limit is unknown in the Sat Nav; usually a minor or B-road. I think if you go past a NSL sign from a road where the limit is known by the Sat Nav, it'll display 60 and then change to --- after a short while. If you go past a NSL sign from a road where the limit wasn't know, or was recognised as different from what the Nav thinks it should be, then it'll display the black bar through the while circle NSL sign, and then change to --- after a while.

Yes, my screen does have HUD written on it.

R444SPT - I didn't think the TSR showed anything other than the current speed limit, but have just read the manual and yes it does. Thank you. Never seen the no overtaking sign shown on mine though.

The Audi q3 we have shows speed limits for roads on the sat nav display. Is there a way to show speed limits on the sat nav map on the Range Rover also ?

I don't have sign recognition option on the car but if the nav stores the limits then that shouldn't be a factor for the sat nav display ?

HI GJW1 I to have an RRS 2016 model without Speed Limit Regcognition and I assumed by ordering the HUD you get the sat nav data displayed somewhere - however I can't find any way to enable it in the system. Going to ask dealer why soon - in the meantime did you get any resolution from anyone?

I don't have the HUD I only wanted to see the speed limits for roads on the sat nav map actually but haven't found how to get this info but the manual says you can upload points of interest to the car so if I find the data on google ill give it a try.

As for the HUD its probably in the settings of the car somewhere what to display on the HUD.
