Does anyone know if the LR detachable towbar is the same across all models? I purchased on on ebay which was listed as D3/D4 and RR Sport compatible, but the metal lug that goes in and out as you turn the handle won't go in far enough to seat in the receiving bracket. I'm wondering if its the wrong towbar or somehow faulty?

Yes it should retract, looks like it is seized. Get some WD40 in the joints and see if that helps. The small pin at the top triggers the bigger bolt shown to lock into place

Now it's all free, take it off again and give it the same good dousing in spray grease, otherwise it's a real pita to get off again. Bodsys Brake Bible

I'm having the same problem, do you need the keys to fit a tow bar? I'm wondering if mine has come with the wrong keys some how? |

MAKE SURE YOU "PULL" the green lever as well as twist it! (you need key in and turned) |

On a similar vain, my key won't come out when it's fitted. Apart from making it very nickable, is it safe to tow with the key in?

Mines all fitted now, I used wd40 on all the parts, and bought some nice thick grease to lube the hole and shaft that why removal should be easier, key popped out fine after this it is worrying tho as I'm picking a new caravan up Saturday hope she don't fall offlol |
