I promised my niece I'd stick her old Macbook on Ebay. I've wiped the hard drive but can't reinstall the OS as Lion is no longer available to download from the App Store and she hasn't got her original discs…..so I have a non functioning Macbook sitting on my desk.

Any suggestions ???? FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Send me a pen drive and I will send you a copy of yosemite image. This is not theft as the software is free for apple. or use the recovery program, instructions here :

Thanks Jeff. I've tried OS X Recovery but the problem is that it will only reinstall Lion as that was originally installed which would be fine, but it is no longer available at the App Store. Unfortunately the Macbook wont run Yosemite. I'm stuck in a bit of a vicious circle here...... FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

i'll ask him, but his is a silver alluminium version, so unsure what the spec will have been when new
