Yes folks "thank god for green flag" once again, whilst on the motorway heading south, our little beauty developed a rumble at 70 mph. As I slowed down it also seem to ease but upon acceleration it came back again, this prompted a sharp exit ASAP with hazards on. Upon slowing down as the island there was this wonderful burning smell and more smoke of the passenger rear wheel hub than a drunks barbecue on a Sunday afternoon. The green flag guy confirmed my thoughts and yes it was the park brake shoes binding, the hub was burning up and had the odour of the nose cone off the shuttle entering the earths atmosphere. Needless to say back in dock for a day or two but a credit to Green Flag who where brilliant again 2007, HSE, Cairnes Blue, Factory tints, Love it !!! |

Yep, good mechanic at service time will be able to spot parts which may wear before the car is in for it's next service and advise you on adequate preventative measures. |

Exactly the same happened to me a couple of weeks ago... and that was only 2 months after having new epb motor, rear disks, pads, shoes and calipers....All at a main dealers!(paid for by the 'mechanic' who 'fixed' it previously ) Needless to say I was off!! The dealer arranged a recovery truck and fixed it within the same day saying it was a faulty part...ended up with another new disk and shoes to near side. |
