My 2012 RRS went into dealers last week for a dodgy water sensor which is being fixed. As the warranty soon runs out i mentioned to them there is a very slight rattle on engine when warm so could they have a look at that also.

They rang me and said they found the rattle and its the Oil Pump and quite a big job, they are fixing it but just wondering if its common on these as its only done 20000 miles.

i don't really understand ,how can an oil pump rattle,or is it the oil pump is faulty causing the engine to rattle i.e. not enough oil pressure  silverRRS 2.7 TDV6 22"WHEELS FULL COLOUR CODE,STEPS,REMAP..gone

yeah i thought it was more like a tensioner or pulley rattle but thats what they say. It was a very pretty blonde lady that told me this so i wasn't really listening to the words coming out of her mouth ...so i could of got it totally wrong, i own an mot garage and my mechanics where also a pit puzzled.

No not sorted yet, i was going to ring today for an update but been really busy at work. Im gonna ring in the morning for an update but this time concentrate on the car and not the lady

besides which I'm quite enjoying razzing around in the new sport

I do want it back quick though as I've bought some black wheels off Dan at Duckworths and wanna try them on.

Got my car back yesterday from dealers. Its had a new oil pump and coolant bottle. I asked if oil pump issue was common and they say they have had a few but wouldn't say its common. Expressed my concerns about any engine damage and they assure me its all fine and they have kept hold of it a bit longer to test drive it for quite a few miles whilst its had major surgery. i believe them as fuel light was on when i got it back.

It does sound sweet and I'm glad i have it back now, i have extended the warranty as it runs out next week. Im happy and have had a really good service from guy salmon at Knutsford.

Ive put my new black 21" wheels on it today (bought off Dan at Duckworths) and its looking well sick..... pics to follow soon.
