Rear windows not working

On my TDV8 2007 the rear windows stopped working. They are not responding from the drivers side controls or from the individual controls on the rear doors.

It looks like they have individual fuses (13 and 17 in the glove department fuse box) so I guess it is not a fuse issue since they both stopped working at the same time.

So I'm thinking a faulty relay - but where do I find the relay for the rear windows? Or is it something else? RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

Sorry to state the obvious- but you haven't got the overide selected gave you? Not sure that inhibits both sets of switches but might be worth recycling.

And you didn't read my initial post? I don't know where the relay is, so I asked if anybody knows that?

but it might be more complicated that just a relay - http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic103185....ws+working RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

if you found the fuses, you should have seen the relay R143
it is in the CJB

Did you check if you get 12v at fuses 17 and 31? or did you pull out the fuses and just checked that they are OK?

check if you get 12v there! if no power, check the big fuse 18E in the engine compartment's battery junction box.

if that fuse is OK, then it must be the relay.

( if power at the small fuses 17 and 31, then you must have a wiring problem and you should have a look at the wires in the footwell.)

I assume the front ones are working, or you'd have mentioned them? If they're fine, it's not going to be the relay, since it's used by all four. The same goes for FL18 in the BJB. Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

A very good morning to you, sir.

I can only assume that at some point in your investigation you have been subject to an unfortunate error, as you will, I believe, find, that I am, in fact, correct and have indeed consulted wiring diagrams.

Quote:
Glass Frames and Mechanisms - Description and Operation...

Electric windows are installed in all four doors. The drivers front window incorporates a self-contained 'Anti-trap' regulator, which features one-shot up and one-shot down functionality. All the passenger windows are hard wired and are powered via the window lift relay in the Central Junction Box (CJB).

I am sorry that you feel it necessary to take the offensive stance, as this forum is a generally pleasant and hospitable place to be, and takes no gain from ill-considered discourteous posting. Perhaps, in future, you might consider giving a little more thought before taking to discrediting members on a whim.

Kind regards,

Well I am happy to see where you got that information from as the official LR RRS wiring diagram (501-11) I got it from and which I posted is showing that only the rear windows go through that relay!

So please show your source of info as I have been factual so far.

Sorry, I owe you an apology, having re-checked, you are correct about the relay. Thumbs Up

When I say I checked the wiring diagram, I did, with reference to FL18, which is shared by all - perhaps your comment was not intended to encompass this, as I took it to? I had not checked the relay properly, having read the wording in the Description and Operation section, as posted, and a previous comment from member "Robbie". This is obviously a mistake that LR have made with their use of the word "passenger". Rolling Eyes

As I say, apologies for the confusion, but next time you need only question politely, as mistakes happen, even in LR's documentation. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I have not had the time (or courage) to look at it - but I was thinking if it may just be easier to replace the CJB?

If so, is this the right one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-L322...SwQItUK~BR RRS TDV8 HSE in Stornoway Grey/Alpaca/Rhodium/Multimedia/Privacy Glass

I just replaced the CJB in mine due to the horn not working! I had to buy a new one from the main stealer at £330.00 plus VAT it had to be coded by Land Rover to my car's VIN before they sent it out.
Good luck..
