I did the on line land rover one but it didn't work and asked me to ring them , I will chase it up as I need a policy for the dealer to do the number plates .

Cheapest without adding a black box was £2,364 (LV=). Admiral (current insurer) was £2,700+ (although haven't spoken to them on the phone yet). DirectLine quoted over £3,700 on phone. LR Insurance won't give a quote online with driving offences but without was over £1,900 and office closed on Sunday so can't phone them to get a price with the penalties.

On the drive. I considered cleaning up the garage couple of years ago to see if the RRS would fit but for some strange reason premium was higher if specified parking in garage so didn't bother.

They might not know which house the car belongs to but they can sit in a parked car and see where you walk to after parking up. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I don't have the latest model, but have always found NFU very reasonable - and they are easy to contact and talk to. Think I pay about £600 |

Cheapest quotes I got a couple of weeks ago were around £600 from Land Rover Insurance, through Compare The Market cheapest was £568. These only valid for a month so will need to check in September and see what comes up then. |

Unfortunately it's your greater London postcode....this is where all of the RRS's have been stolen recently. All without keys from the street and peoples driveways....

The "best" quote of £2364 was from confused.com. Moneysupermarket.com reduces it to £2192 (same insurer). I can get it to roughly £2050 mark (Elephant) by increasing the voluntary excess to £1k.

I have insured with Land Rover Insurance since 1997, they have been by far the cheapest for me (ancient driver with 35 years clean and accident free driving, in high risk employment with off road use and recovery, car left on drive for months on end without use). Last year they even decided that my RR Evoque and Defender constituted a "Fleet" and I now have one policy covering both cars. My Evoque (value £55000) cost me £190pa with offroad use and the 1996 Defender TDi300 £240 (it has no antitheft devices at all). I had just paid a full year's premium in early March when I changed to the RRS2 and LRI asked me for an additional £35 to upgrade from the Evoque to the RRS............. I don't even have a low risk postcode being in an FK rural code where there has been quite a lot of vehicle theft, especially Land Rovers from farms.. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
