So after banging on about pollution - people are now buying new cleaner vehicles with free VED but the Gov't have lost revenue and decided it is unfair

Just had my VED renewal through. 505 for the year. If I pay monthly they will very generously charge me an extra 25.25!

Muddy, it was always going to happen that they would have to charge low/zero emission vehicles at some point. As you say, the loss of revenue from 25 million zero-VED vehicles would otherwise be detrimental to the Govt's funding. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I renewed mine in March, and it was 475. Has it gone up again since then? I said to Mrs Ady in March, if it goes up to 500+ then the sport is going. I only do approx 8000 miles a year. |

I've done about 1000 and she definitely is going, just wanna detail her again and fix some other stuff. Should be finished by 2017 . My god they do look great though on the drive!!! Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project. DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights. TO DO: color code sills and pillars. |

Mine is doing 2500+ miles / month at the moment so the price per mile of the VED is nothing compared to the fuel bill... Looking forward to a glut of cheap RRS on the market soon then... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Yes they do look great,And feel great to drive. Mine is going in a couple of weeks, already sold Have i made a mistake? My new car,a Ford Kuga Titanium X in Ruby Red. No road tax,No insurance, No repair or servicing bills, and free breakdown cover Thats because i am getting old,and bad health. My wife says she dont like the funny looks we get when we get out of our stunning RRS ( Whats those old codgers doing in a car like that) So its now down to a Motorbility Car. So glad its not one of those silly mobility cars of yesteryear itisme |

The thing that grinds my gears is the "jealously tax" bit where cars over 40k list price pay an extra 310pa for five years. So you buy your nice car, get hit for a first year VED hike because "it's a bit polluting" and then get hit again because it's a bit pricey.
