Exactly, it is in the hands of the Ombudsman now. I just have to hope they can see my side of the story and make it right with WD. Looking at a bill upwards of £7k for my side of it with WD putting in another £2.5k so that's around £10kish all in. Nightmare.

Seeing as you are the owner, and therefore the regular driver of the vehicle, I think I know which one I would believe, should this go down any legal route.

I think, subject to any "evidence" that WD provide and the exact terms in the agreement, that is the way it would have to go in a court of law too. I may be wrong as it's not quite the same as the situation I have in mind. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I might have missed something in previous posts, but how do you get to these figures for each party.
If it's proven in your favour would the complete costs not be with the warranty company, minus any excess of course. 2005 Vesuvius 1st edition ( now sadly gone ).

That's as it stands at the moment. Warranty Direct paying for Turbos and labour and I am having to fork out £5k for an engine, another £1500 for an intercooler and the cost of fitting them.

If the Ombudsman sides with me then yes, WD will cover it all minus the excess etc. I can only hope.

Scotland 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

Update: got the car back today, eventually! New engine and new turbos all fitted, appears to be running perfectly as before, just hope I get the turbos lasting as long as I have the car now. Final bill was sickening... Spent over £9000 on it with WD contributing a measly £2300. The ombudsman are dealing with my complaint so I can only hope they side with me and I can recoup a bit more of that.

A quick one: when I picked up the car it was fine, although after 100miles of motorway going home, when I slowed down back in my town I had the window down as it was scorching today and there is a seriously loud screeching from the front drivers side wheel (I think, it could be the rear but I stuck my head out to try and hear better and sounded like the front). I'm not sure what it is, could be a stone trapped in the caliper or something, it's pretty embarrassing and loud though, enough for people walking on the pavement to have their attention drawn to it.. Any other ideas before I take it the garage tomorrow?

Could be a sticky/binding EPB, if it has been parked up for a while, along with pads seized in the carriers, sticky caliper piston, or a trapped stone

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome with the ombudsman

Thumbs Up

Cheers Mikey, if it's the EPB is their any easy solution or will general use sort it out again over time?

If its EPB, it needs stripped down, and checked for free movement/seized parts, and the backplate needs greased where the shoes rub against it Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
