I used a maxi cosi with a base that clipped in and out and was great can't remember the model but you need to go and try a few most places test fit them for you to get the correct fitting one for your car. As for a seat protector I used to use a soft baby blanket but was told not to so now I don't use anything. But the best buy is the new toddler seat I have which is also maxi cosi and it turns sideways to help get them out and that I would recommend to anyone as it had been a real back saver now my little one is a bit older and heavier. Here she is modelling the new seat which is a belt in and ratchet style

We used a maxi-cosi with an Iso-Fix, family fix base unit. It's brilliant and now we.ve dusted it off to use again for our second.

We have the Maxi Cosi and family fix base. Definitely recommend getting the base, makes clicking in and out so much easier. It's a right paining belting the seat in to my L200! 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE- Cairns Blue with 22" Stormers |

Like many others, we had the Maxi Cosi with Family Fix base, then followed up with replacing the Pebble with the Pearl.. worked a treat.

We never bothered with a pearl. We went for one which swivelled which makes it so easy getting in and out when they start chunking up. Only downside to the swivel ones though was there was no isofix ones which was weird. I guess they were holding back the tech for next years new model... |

Thanks all - so it's looks like a Pebble or Cabriofix seat with a FamilyFix base is the best option, and then move on to a Pearl later on.
