2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

RRS TDV8 black smoke problem

Hi all.

Got my car back from the garage and they suspect the rocker cover has a small crack in it on the drivers side causing my car to go into limp mode when excellerating. The garage has quoted over £500 for the part. Can anybody give me the part number for this and recommend a cheaper alternative?

The cheaper alternative is a second hand item from a breaker's yard. I'd bet that the new part is only available from Land Rover which is why it's so pricey. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
