Don't believe what the app tells you! It is VERY optimistic, I have one of the earlest Evoques fitted with it (so easrly that build was delayed 6 months to have it!) and while it is great for most things the mpg is best taken with a big pinch of salt. I use an online fuel monitoring website called Fuelly.com and that gives mpg per tank and averages it out over a tankful, over a year and also will tell you cost per mile if you add in things like depreciation, servicing etc etc. You can even post a link to your mpg in your signature here!

SVR is 680 Nm, SDV6 is 700 Nm. Power and weight are the key. |

Hit the big Five Oh today - 50.3mpg that is! Driving into Stirling got stuck behind a long tailback stuck behind 2 cars towing caravans with a large truck behind them and no place to overtake so sat back at 40-45mph for 12 miles on the flat, straight section of the A811 and watched the TC climb. It did get up to 50.5mpg at one point but by the time I got the iPhone primed I had to climb the flyover over the M9.......... |

Hope the collection goes well Alex, if it's a brand one then don't get your hopes up - my first trip was from Barnet around the North Circular to Hanger Lane and I was impressed with the average of 37mpg through Saturday afternoon football traffic heading to Wembley. I had high hopes for my next trip which was west London to Central Scotland - a nice gentle steady 70mph motorway cruise the length of the UK............. 29.9mpg but on a tight new engine and average speed for the trip was around 65mph when you take into account slow spells on the M6. Since 28th March I have covered nearly 1400 miles and the mpg is improving all the time. I don't use the car for commuting and it rarely does trips into the center of big cities - mostly fast A roads and the Scottish motorways. It is turning into such a fun car though, more than enough get up and go for me and so quiet and comfortable. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks Tim I will keep a keen eye on the consumption, I should have it broken in pretty quick as I travel back home to Scotland every 2 to 3 months as I'm from Stornoway and just happen to live in beds for work reasons.

Pah, you bunch of old penny pinchers! You just dropped +/- £80k on a new motor and you're marvelling at a few extra MPG whilst, presumably, lighting a cigar with a burning twenty quid note and browsing "Small Countries For Sale" in Exchange & Mart. |
