Rim sizes and brake clearance

Hi.

Is anyone able to confirm what size rims would be found on:

-an early 4.2 Supercharged V8

-an early 3.6 TDV8

And do these models have the same brakes?

Depending on the answers, what options are there to downsize to a smaller rim? Where are the clearance issues, is it the inner diameter of rim, or is it the spokes? i.e. would wheel spacers or a different offset rim (should any exist) give enough clearance despite being smaller.

I seem to recall the D3 could be had on 18 and even 17" rims (base model for the latter??). I'm just trying to figure out the feasibility of fitting something like this to one of the above RRS models.

Thanks.

The smallest LR rims that will fit either S/C or TDV8 is 19 inch. There was a Compomotive 18 inch rim that would fit but they're rare and not cheap - they also require the caliper to be lightly modified.

The issue is the clearance on the inside face of the wheel - the Brembo brakes are quite chunky. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The standard OEM rims were 20" on both the TDv8 and 4.2S/C. As RRSTDv8 says some of the LR 19" OEM wheels will fit but not all. There is a specially made Compomotive 18" race wheel that Compomotive made especially for the Bowler Nemisis that will also fit but they are hugely expensive and very hard to get. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
