England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Tonga Green

Noticed the last few days that I'm occasionally getting the "low battery" symbol popping up on the stereo. This only seems to be when I've been using my iPhone and Aux-in.

Is this a sign of the new battery going (alternator/power drain), or is this one of those weird RRS niggles?

Need to buy one of those cig lighter voltage checkers really! 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

I would certainly be keeping an eye on the alternator and checking for a battery drain. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Low power on the radio when the engine is running points to a low battery. You do need to check the battery when cold (first thing in the morning or at least 4 hours after last run) and also the alternator output (voltage whilst engine running basically). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My worry is that the battery is brand new, and I've had the message.

Never get it when the stereo is on CD or Radio, just when I've got it on Aux-In.

It also doesn't show every time I turn the car off?!?!?? I've orderd a digital battery meter so il have a look what it states when it arrives 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

I will wade in here. I don't think you have an issue Wink

When using the Aux input, the line-in volume is massively reduced, and the stereo needs to be turned much louder, to get the same volume output than when using the CD/Radio function.

I will assume, because you are using the Aux, the volume is turned up past 20 (as mine frequently is using the Aux)
When the car is turned off with the volume above 20, the radio automatically reduces its volume to conserve battery power
This is why you will not see it when using CD/Radio

Try turning the volume down before you switch off next time, and see if the message still comes up
Thumbs Up

Cheers Mike, appreciate that post!

I'd tried the car on FM, AM & CD, with no power issues, only with Aux-In in use. I have bought a battery tester though just to be on the safe side going forward!
