Soft Door Close

OK, first question. Should the soft door close work on all doors, including the drivers?

absolutely, all 4 doors are need to work that way.
Sometimes it "oversteers" when you push it harder, it dosent react correctly.

It also wasn't working on any of the doors on both the Land Rover Experience RRS and FFRR I drove 3 weeks ago. Is it a user configaurable option in the dash if it is fitted? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Didn't work on the driver's door of the demonstrator I tried a few weeks ago. Wasn't until I closed the passenger door and found that it soft closed that I realised the car had the feature. Checked the rears and they both worked. Probably a software issue.

I suspect another software issue with the FFRR demonstrator I tried. The deployable sidesteps had a mind of their own. They couldn't be prevented from coming out if you followed the inhibit instructions and then both sides came out together instead of just one side whenever a door was opened.

Also, the electrically operated rear seat back folding feature made the front passenger seat go backwards and forwards like some sort of demented slow motion duck in a shooting gallery and once the rear seat back was lowered it wouldn't come up again. (My understanding is that it's supposed to move the front seat clear to allow the rear to fold without hitting it. Don't know what your passenger is supposed to do while all this is going on - stand outside in the rain I suppose!)

Given how easily the doors close on an RRS and how relatively light they are, I wonder what the benefit is. Mark

Ah yes, the barely discernible exhaust note of the SVR which will let babies sleep on... Mark

With how many times I have to get out to shut the doors properly for the kids I regret not ticking that box. I would happily exchange the self park (always cancels half way through) high beam assist (too slow to react) and nonexistent mood lighting for that one option
