It was a no cost option on the build configurator - which I ticked. Not sure why it's being missed off as it is of course standard on an ATB spec.

We deleted it to save weight..... Very Happy Seriously

Just read the Telegraph report online. On the whole it's reasonably fair but they're two different cars aimed at different customers and once you have his mindset, it will always be difficult to convince otherwise.
If we all liked the same things, life would be pretty mundane....

DaveW,

The difference between the Supercharged and SVR in Dyn/Spt mode is actually quite staggering. I mean the Supercharged isn't sluggish but to make the SVR such a different drive is testament to the expertise put into honing the car. Keep up the good work. If SVO are going to be doing this to others in the JLR line-up then it can only be a good thing.

Has the SVAutobiography had a similar 'race car' like setup applied? SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR

SOLD - 64 plate Aleutian Silver Supercharged

SOLD - 63 plate Corris SDV6 Autobiography

No, SVAutobiography is a fine example of another aspect of our work; that of outstanding luxury. It's more effortless luxury performance than anything else.

Just thought i would pop in and say i have jaw ache. This car is amazing and i cant stop smiling. Very Happy

Im behaving like a terror, the sound is immense and i like scaring kids and old people on bikes by coming off the go pedal and waiting for him to pop and bang. The acceleration is beyond what you could ever want, and even a guy on a motor bike gave me an approving nod when i launched away from some traffic lights. Guess he wasnt expecting the power, noise or a girl driver!

This is one of the best purchases i have ever made. Thumbs Up

My only gripe is the annoying eco 'A' button. When the 'eco off' button is turned on you would expect it to be off. But it isnt. its switched on. Either im being dim, its wired wrong or some genius at landrover thinks he knows best. 2012 Evoque

Yes, Eco button light on is Eco-mode off.

I thought I would turn it off each and every time, but I really like the way it works on the car. For those that don't know, if you stop and hold the car lightly on the brake the engine keeps running. Press the brake pedal harder and then it will turn off. Similarly, when stopped with the engine not running, if you see the traffic ahead move you release the pressure on the pedal and then engine starts but the car stays stationary.

When my car was in the garage they lent me an XF, which also had the Stop/Start system, but this didn't work as well as is does on my SVR as the engine always stopped when the car was stationary.

well, thats what you would think.

When the button is highlighted, it says 'Eco On' on the dash and the car stops/starts. I think i might be wired incorrectly? the Evoque and Ab worked as you mentioned. Thats why i thought i was going mad to start with. 2012 Evoque

Complete edit of my original post: by default, the "A off" button is lit and the Stop/Start is active. When the engine is stopped, a green symbol A is shown on the dash. To disable the Stop/Start, the button marked "A off" is pressed. This turns the light on the button off, a message appears and so does a white "A off" symbol on the dash.

Having the button marked "A off" or having the "A off" button illuminate when it isn't off, is backward IMHO.

You have to laugh at the design concept that start/stop will make any significant impact to the eco-friendliness of a big V8 monster. Why didn't they just delete this annoyance from the SVR? Regards

Malcolm

Makes quite a bit of difference, apparently - https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/c...f44!!8!449

But what's more important, it is quite fun to be stopped at the lights with the engine off and all the other little cars pull up alongside, then the lights change to green up ahead and the SVR bursts into life. Twisted Evil
