2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Today's technical question............

Found this in my spare wheel well - it is logo'd with the LR oval and is white plastic - looks like some sort of filler/funnel for adding fluids. BTW the photo has been rotated 90 degrees in the forum gallery for some reason

EDIT - the dealership says it isn't important, no need to return it! I'll keep it as it looks like a useful piece of kit for filling the screen washer reservoir without spilling anything! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I have something similar that was in the glove box on delivery. I believe it may be a device that allows you to refuel the car using a fuel can. It either presses away the metal cover, that pops up over over the fuel pipe to prevent an unleaded fuel nozzle from being inserted, and keeps it retained back allowing you to fill the tank through the funnel or it stops the misfuelling prevention device from triggering while you fill from the can. I think recently delivered cars must have a different misfuelling device fitted as my dealer has advised that there is no need longer any need for the misfuelling reset tool that is mentioned in the current MY15 manual.

I was advised it was for use if trying to fuel with a non standard nozzle. ie a fuel can or some eastern European filling stations.
Apparently the miss fuel device shuts off if it is not inserted.

Thanks for that, so I'd better not use it for other things and put it back in the spare wheel well just in case. I did notice that the Sainsbury's filling station nozzle I used in Stirling when I filled up was a very tight fit in the opening. Makes my usual "fill it until you can see the diesel just over the flap" constant level obsolete and I'll have to find another method 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Ten Days into ownership I have opened the owner's handbook for the first time.............. Rainbow is right, it is a special funnel to bypass the misfuelling device and allows the nozzle of a jerrycan to go down the filler. So the dealer's advice to disregard it are totally wrong, it is quite an important piece of kit. There is a description of how to use it on Page 5 of the owner's handbook supplement 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver

hi Tim
Any chance i could buy this funnel from you? I'm looking for one for an overland trip I'm doing in a few months and finding it almost impossible to source. Unfortunately, my car didn't come with it.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Kieron
