We have a 2011 RRS 3.0 TDV.

The engine and bay are in need of a good clean. Is it ok to use the snow foam and then power wash or not?

i did mine but was very careful not to aim lance around battery /ecu area,personally i wouldn't do it again knowing what these cars can be like...just take the plastic cover off and give that a good clean would make a big difference  silverRRS 2.7 TDV6 22"WHEELS FULL COLOUR CODE,STEPS,REMAP..gone

Absolutely fine to do. Buy a good degreaser like R222 total auto wash. Then turn the engine on, spray the engine bay with the R222, then jet wash the engine bay whilst the cars running. Then shut the bonnet and leave running for 20 mins to "cook" off any water! I do mine every month and have been for around 3 years - never had a prob yet!

Would it be ok to do with the SC engine?

IN my opinion it'd be safe to do it on any engine! I've got 5 cars and do it to all of mine. Never had an issue.

Cheers will give it a go, I have bought some engine bay detailer as I thought it was due a spruce up so might just lightly snow foam and rinse clean

The trick is the degreaser! Use a good degreaser and it won't need anything else (in my opinion!).

I have some Autoglymm engine degreaser/cleaner which I will try out then as it was a recent buy from halfrauds in there 3 for 2 cleaning deal

That will be perfect. I personally would use that and then nothing else. The engine dressing products end up attracting dirt to them.

Is there anywhere I should stay well away from? Not sure where the ecu is on mine but will be inspecting before I do it. Also is it better with engine running or not as wouldn't want to short any electrics that will be on while the car is running :/

I always always have engine running. Remember that your engine gets wet when you drive it anyway so this is ok to do! I constantly move the jet wash so that no direct water in a concentrated dose can hit anything too long.

The engine ECU and the transfer box ECU are in a box behind the battery. There is a cooling fan built in to the ECU box so you probably want to keep any water away from that area - it's behind the battery so you'll likely be careful of that area anyway. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
