Has anyone,had the modified transmission filter with steel sump fitted?If so,how did it go,and are there any future warranty issues if gearbox fails?

Yes, it has been done by plenty. I haven't heard of any reported issues but don't expect the LR warranty to cover it. IIRC, ZF do not support the modification either so I would check with any warranty company first.

Had the metal sump conversion on my TDV8 about 18 months ago. You need to make sure whoever you commission to do the work does it regularly and that they change the wiring plug sleeve at the same time.

It's vital to use the correct bolts and fluid. Good transmission specialists do it very frequently so find one near to you is my advice.

I've done the mod myself on the ground in my garage. so it can be done by DIY but some bolts are very hard to reach
