I would tend to agree but the new RRS is not massively cheaper after a year or two for that matter. Unless I am looking in the wrong place.

Up until the end of last year LR dealers were proudly selling RRS which had done 10k miles and were 12 months old for the list price! When I asked how these cars were priced they told me to go for a new one and wait but if I wanted it there and then then the used example would be the one.

I also agree that usually you can save quite a lot by buying slightly used but that doesn't seem to be the case for RRS2 or even new FFRR to a certain extent still.

That's obviously a given DRDILL. I assume the OP's question is comparing thoughts of people who can afford to buy new and do it versus those who can but prefer not to. It would be pointless otherwise. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

i cant afford a new car but on every car ive bought for the last 5 years ive had a budget to spend of usually 2/3 times more than ive spent, eg when i bought my sport 15k, i had a budget of 35k, but 35k got the same car but newer so just didnt bother thinking that 20k was alot of repairs covered, |

Ok, try this one, see what a dealer will offer you for a low mileage 12 month old RRS2. It will either be, the wrong colour, wrong spec, or the wrong time of year |

Just bought a massively spec'd 96K motor for less than 80K with less than 6000 miles, not even broken in, so massive saving was had in my eyes, fully 5 yr servicing transferred, remained of OEM warranty, 2yrs roadside assist etc, and lots more benefits.

I bought mine at just under 2 yrs old and kept for 12 months. Was patient with dealers (8 weeks) in finding the Spec an colour at the price I wanted to pay. (no different in time waiting for a new customer build)

Assuming that you have the money to buy new and you wonder if it is possible to own a new car for less cost than used - well it all depends what you sell for, something often overlooked when you buy.
