Fuel Filter 07MY

I have just changed the fuel filter in 07MY TDV6 (2.7) and I had forgotton what a pain of a job it is due to the location on top of the gearbox cross member.

Has anyone moved the fuel filter about 6" forward form where it is now making access much much easier - by the look of it the mount could be easily moved and the fuel line extended but I know from experience things are always not as easy as it seems.

So has anyone moved the filter and are there any things to look out for.

It was put there so it did not get ripped off if your off roading and the car grounded, the fiber glass cover would do nothing to save it if it was not over the cross member

Yes I agree - but at the design stage of the car a metal protection plate could have been incorporated - or even have the filter installed in the engine bay. 07MY RRS TDV6
