United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HSE Santorini Black

Ah. Never had to look at one with an internal module failure before...

Worth checking the system for all.fuses etc, incase it's something simple Thumbs Up

So, the story unfolds but no happy ending yet!

I had to admit defeat and took it to the dealer who promptly diagnosed a faulty FBH and fitted a new one under warranty. Apparently the "sparker" had failed and it is an integral part of the heater.

I set the timer for 08:00 today, went out at 08:15 and it was fast asleep, no sign of smoke, noise or warmth. When I press the manual heat button the FBH goes through it's cycle of starting up and seems to start running OK but stops after a few minutes. The car is nearly full of diesel, 12.4 volts and outside temp is +1C.

Am I doing something wrong?

Might be clutching at straws, but have you connected the IIDTool again and checked that the dealers haven't reset the CCF so it is only showing FBH fitted & Park Heater not?

I would have imagined that they would have checked it out after fitting, so you never know?

Thanks jeffhunt, I checked with the IID Tool and all is still as I had set it. The timed heating screen still appears OK and I can set the timer, it just seems to work for only a few minutes. Driving me mad now.

UPDATE and SUCCESS!

Probably the third time that I tried the "manual heat" it started and kept working. I set the timer for 8 pm the next day and it fired up, sounding like a small jet engine, and did it's job. I then fitted the receiver and antenna, paired the fob and it works a treat. I still don't know why the timer wouldn't get it to fire up at first but I always intended to use it via the fob. I just want some really cold weather now.

Just had mine fitted last week.
First try it hadn't worked but the fuel was low.
Remote turned it in on this morning, I heard the motor running but it didn't feel warm in the car,
Is the temp set through climate control or am I just being thick.
I don't mind which it is as long as I know.

Hi Minshy, I have been leaving mine set at about 21 degrees and on "auto." Battery needs to be OK and enough diesel.

It should certainly defrost the car and raise the temperature but it doesn't take it anywhere near the set temperature. The car does quickly warm up from that point when the engine is running though.

Please respond back if you learn anything more about this as I am keen to learn more.

Thanks for the response at least I have an idea what to expect next time I switch it on,
Can't wait for it to be frosty, knowing my luck there will be heat wave from now on.
I bought the car last year and there was no snow to play in, at least this year there was some and the car didn't disappoint
missus ain't happy I spent the money on this but she never is lol
All I said was to have a look in her wardrobe about wasting money, that didn't go down to well

Are you sure it's the aux heater? The position changed on the RRS2, tucked away left hand side at the back as you look at the engine bay from the front.

Not so easy to spot!! But it's the extra pipe work gives it away. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

How does it know what temperature to set at?

Does it copy what the car has previously been set at?

Or is there an instruction somewhere to set it? MY19 5.0SC Dynamic AB - Boss Grey, Black Pano Roof, 22” Gloss Black Alloys, Ebony/Ivory Massage Seats, Carbon Fibre Finishers, HUD, DTV and the all important Cabin Ionisation...
