Yes, that £299 for ding insurance is reduced from £449 if you buy the bundle.

I'm inclined to take them because of residual worries about security and unlike my sports cars which are used for specific trips and activities, the SVR is more likely to get caught up in cosmetically hazardous situations like tight parking, careless drivers and the rest. I need to read the small print...

Might try and negotiate them down to see if there is any wriggle room. Mark

Fabulous Mark, same colour and spec as my works (Goodwood) car except I've got 22"s.

The exhaust tips are polished stainless; the protos in the early photos were painted black so as to reduce interest!

As for the arch spats, they come as a legal requirement for the 22" wheels so those cars fitted with 21"s don't get them.

Yes, polished stainless, will be interesting to see how easy they are to keep clean. I lose the will with the chromed tailpipes of a 911 turbo and Mercedes SL55 AMG.

Dave, thank you. You make an interesting point. Changing from 21 to 22 inch wheels is not then just a case of unbolting one and replacing with the other because it is then not legal. I remember the Evoque wheel arch trims (are these the "spats"?) had little "winglets" on them, the intention of which was to ensure that the wheels did not protrude beyond the bodywork. It seems that spats fractionally increase the width to make them legal.

In the Evoque, there were holes for the press studs to hold them in position where clearly there are not on my car. Does that mean the body-in-white differs depending on whether or not the car is going to have 22 inch wheels?

The white SVR I saw had 22 inch wheels, they are huge; I'm comfortable with the choice of 21s for my car given the intended use. Mark

Yes, I'm thinking it might be better framed on my study wall LOL.

What are real works of art in this car (not just the SVR) are those suspension turrets you can see in the under-bonnet picture. They're not pressings as you might find in a lesser steel car but aluminium castings and they look wonderful.

I cannot wait to drive this car. I've ordered the LR accessories I want from one of the site sponsors beginning with D (others are available) to finally tailor the car to my needs. This car, I feel certain, will continue to surprise and delight long after the purchase price is forgotten because it breaks new ground for a Range Rover. Mark

Great colour and at last, a proper looking rear end. But i don't think Mrs would allow me to spend that amount on a car here!

After driving in Perth, I know I would accumulate demerit points rather quickly... I was caught in a rented Hyundai i20. As we all know, rented cars are the fastest but even so. Mark
