Ordered first RRS, but need expert advice please

Hi guys,

I have just ordered my first RRS HSE dynamic 3.0 SDV6 for delivery in May...maybe!

I posted on the RRS2 forum but quite quiet there and just found this one. One of the members here helped me there I think (Viper).

As this is my first ever JLR product can I check I have ordered all the important toys please.

Gone for Aleutian silver with contrast panoramic sliding roof in black.

Stealth pack with 22" satin black wheels
Red Brembos
Power mirrors
Adaptive Xenons
Privacy Glass
Full size spare wheel
Black roof rails
Load through seats
Ebony/cirrus with ebony seats
Grand black wood finisher
Heated steering wheel
Premium carpet mats
Noble paddle shift
Twin sunvisor
Surround cameras
Blind spot monitoring with reverse sensing
Meridian 825 watt system

Is there anything I should have as well? Thought about climate seats? and thought about parking system but my wife is quite good at parking so didn't. Liked the idea of 360 park distance control? Can it reverse into a garage with the perpendicular parking option?

The dealer had an Aleutian silver one and it looked great. Was going to get black the Yulong white then this!!!

Any ideas among you experts?

Cheers and can't wait to join this exclusive club. Hoping for May.

Dave

Lovely spec (similar spec to mine but went for Santorini exterior) Only other thing that is a no brainer is the extra large washer bottle as its cheap. Get them to throw in the rubber boot mat and full set of rubber floor mats. Mine due end of March and cannot wait.

Doh!

I did add the washer bottle. The sales man laughed when he said to add it for £30!

I looked as side steps a great deal but didn't like the fixed ones and the deployable ones cost a fortune! I can add later at least.

I got some insurances chucked in and investigating mats on here now thanks.

Still unsure re parking gadget and seats?

Good luck Invincible for yours.

Cheers

Dave

To be honest I have the Park Assist on my Evoque and have never used it (or maybe that should read 'trust it'). I am sure its great. I did add the 18way seats for the fact that it adds seat cushion extension and I like having the extra support.

That's what I thought about the parking thing too! Would probably never fully trust it and only use to show off to mates. I will check the 18 way seats too thanks.

I am getting it properly detailed and sealed inside and out on arrival so I will check on the black trim thanks.

Mine is going to down to GemClean prior to me picking it up to get fully detailed with Gtechniq - worth having a look at them and look for Andman's post and pictures - it did it for me.

Mine is going to Refined Detail in Billingshurst. I have used them before and they are brilliant. They use Gtechniq and others so should help.

New here so will check those posts too thanks.

Nice one!

Best advice my detailer gave me was to make sure the dealer does not wash the car prior to it being delivered to him as this could create swirl marks and then require a paint correction process to remove these before applying the coatings. This will add costs to you if required. If you are collecting from the dealer prior to it getting detailed then get them to leave the delivery wrapping on the the panels as this will mean its factory fresh. Luckily my dealer does not want me to see the car with the wrap on it so is taking it to my detailer (at their expense) before presenting it to me.

Absolutely.

The detailers have already said that. He also said that my dealer has a poor reputation for preparing cars!

My wife wants to get it from the showroom as they do a nice handover so I have to get a balance between full prep and looking just about ok for the handover. The detailer is chokka so going to be hard to get in to him straight away sadly as I don't have a firm delivery date. And that is before any further wheel nut issues!

Cheers for the great info.

Dave

What's the difference in price between HSE spec + options and Autiobiography + fewer options.

Also, I wouldn't bother with the noble played paddle shifts - bloody expensive for something you don't see, need or use.

I had a look at the differences before choosing the HSE Dynamic and from what I could see, based on the spec I wanted, I would be paying in the region of 7K for the AB badge (this is without factoring in the colour coded sills and bumper parts as they are not an option on the Dynamic) so call it 6K. This was based on using the spreadsheet the dealer uses to configure your vehicle. Mine was good enough to send me a copy Thumbs Up

No doubt I will have missed something and someone will update.

Nice spec.
I would add the 18 way seats though.

Which dealer are you buying from to get a may build? I used harwoods crawley this week and didn't get anywhere near that! I'm much further out.
