JLR are surprisingly good at intervening in these situations. Send an email to Andrew West - he's excellent and sorted out considerable issues with my Range Rover, including providing a L405 top spec replacement whilst mine was in the dealer being fixed. |

Think I'd park outside the dealership with some large signs advising prospective customers to come and have a chat before dealing with these main dealers who sound like back street traders.

That's encouraging ... and look forward to hearing it ends exactly as it should with a full refund...

i would double check to make sure its not a cat D or similar, just for 100% peace of mind. sounds extreme I know but I remember I had this problem when buying my sport, lots of people trying to fool me into thinking everything was perfect. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

An £80,000 2014 RR Sport would have to be completely mangled to be written off by an insurance company. |

sure but there are different categories and it could be a D, which can be repaired yet will subsequently cost less than its market value Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

The damage that is described here sounds well within the realms of Cat D which is not significant damage..

This is a problem if a car is substantially damaged but repaired "in house" it is not registered so how would anyone but an expert know . |

For an £80,000 vehicle to be given a Cat D status would mean its had work done to it costing in the region of £30,000. There are hundreds of thousands of cars out there that have had a bump and been repaired yet there is no record of it ever happening b |

Highly unlikely to be a Cat D, if it was was then it wouldn't have been retailed in the first place. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography
